Yes, it was an April Fools joke.

99% of you got my joke . I got a lot of funny replies like “Congrats, hope it works out for you.”

To the 1% that actually thought I was serious (my parents included, shit) – i’m really sorry to put you through all that stress. Maybe adding the date, April 1, 2007, would have softened the blow…maybe I should NOT have included that crazy photo of me and the sikhs.

I’m happy that most of you enjoyed it in good humor… and to the rest of you… I promise to never do that again – ever.

We’re heading to Nepal tomorrow to do some trekking.

    I’m in the 1% that wasn’t so sure about your supposed “joke” which I received late at night on March 31st.

    Now granted April Fools is April Fools. But leaving it up April 2nd and 3rd.. that’s just mean.

    Apparently, I wasn’t on your April Fool’s email list, so I started getting all these calls asking me wtf is going on! (I found out on April 2nd). Then I read your “last” blog post and came to the conclusion you’d been snatched by a cult . . . you owe me $12.95 for tracking down your mother’s phone number so I could see if she’s okay (i’m not sure how many rupees that is.)
