If humanity does not opt for integrity we are through completely. It is absolutely touch and go. Each one of us could make the difference. - R. Buckminster Fuller

Seduction?

May 2nd, 2008 · No Comments

Flower seducing a bee with pollen.

Whom is seducing whom? Whom desires whom? Flower vs. Bee? Man vs. Grass? Me vs. San Francisco. In his book, “The Botany of Desire” Michael Pollan poses a very interesting flip… can plants seduce animals (and humans) into helping them evolve? Do they seduce us into protecting them from their enemies and giving them room to breathe and grow? Its a very interesting notion - one that has changed the way I look at the laws of attraction.

Erica and I “hiked” through a big cemetery in Oakland today. It was very beautiful.. especially when we got to the top and saw some amazing views of the city. Erica asked me to take a photo of a bee, and I did. We talked about EVERYTHING.. as we usually do. And asked ourselves some pretty un-answerable questions.. like… “Do dead people hang out in cemeteries?” or “Were cavemen depressed.. or were they too busy running away from tigers and shit.” You know, the usual.
