This is Paul. To say he’s my best friend makes the whole thing sound too fucking cheesy. BFF makes me feel like I’m in High School. Paul is more than a friend. He is honest. He makes me laugh & cry. He inspires me and frustrates me. He may have been born 367 days after me, but it feels more like we were born in the same minute. He’s my Sagittariun brother from another… born of the same nerdy, boy-man, charming, creative, excited by the mundane, skeptic of the widely accepted, galactic fairy dust.

We are the wondertwins of pontification. We can talk about everything & nothing for hours.. and make that topic damn entertaining. From heady psychological dissection of human nature to the philosophy of crunchy drums and wobbly basslines to the art of the start.

Most of all.. he challenges me. Even when I don’t want a challenge. He’ll always pose a different viewpoint. It even makes my blood boil sometimes, but I appreciate it always. Challenging friends are good. He who wants a friend that lets you hear what you want to hear all the time is not wanting to face growth.

And that’s the end of that one.

Check out Paul’s fresh tumbl.

No time to write now.. more thoughts later. Here’s some stuff I’ve been doing….

Randomly ran into a big dance party. Parisian kids like to dance. The music was kind-of cheesy tho.

Lexi’s friend Jerome had a comedy performance. Her friends are very friendly. Comedy in French is hard to understand if you don’t speak the language. I only got the jokes that involved large sexual hand gestures.

Obligatory Eiffel Tower shots. It looks really nice at night. The lines are too long, though. We didn’t go up.

Gargoyles are funny and creepy and weird and beautiful.. and cool. I always thought their purpose was decorative and spiritual - to protect the church from evil spirits. But it seems that their main purpose is functional. A Gargoyle is nothing more than a water spout designed to direct rainwater away from the structure to protect is from water damage. Notre Dam has some badass Gargoyles.

Been here for 24 hours.
12 spent sleeping off jet lag.
5 spent walking around and
eating yummy foods.
7… no clue where they went.

There is a bakery every 10 meters. I think I will use bakery as my unit measure from now on. There’s a coffee shop every 2 bakeries. There is also a butcher every 4 bakeries. Every 5 bakeries or so… there is an intersection with cars. The cars are usually 1/4 to 1/2 bakery in size.

Still a bit disoriented… I fumbled out of Tuhin’s apartment and walked around the 19th Arrondissement for a few hours. There’s a beautiful little park here called Parc des Buttes Chaumont. It is kind-of a mini central park with sprawling hillside lawns littered with couples, families, and friends enjoying the sun. In the middle of the park is a small lake-ish thing with a fortress-esque rock that is topped by a little temple overlooking the city. There is a waterfall and stream that run through and around the rocks. The water trickles down steps where kids take off their shoes and play in the water.

Rooftop gardens and windowsill planers overflow with life. Paris is very green right now. I walk around holding back the urge to eat everything in sight.

Its not like I made that many of them but I didn’t really expect the kind of turnout and support that I got. I should have ordered more. Thank you so much to all who got a copy. The wait-list for the next printing, if it happens, has already started. Let me know by sending me an email or by leaving a comment on this page.

I’m also very proud of the donations to just-one that came out of this. Thank you so much. These donations will go a long way in a place where the dollar is still ridiculously strong.
